BYOB Party Bus Rules: What You Can (and Can’t) Bring on Your Seattle Party Bus
One of the most common questions we get: “Can we bring our own drinks?” The short answer is YES — but there are rules. Here’s everything you need to know to keep the party going and everyone safe.
Yes, You Can BYOB 🎉
Our party buses are BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage). We do not provide alcohol of any kind, but you’re welcome to bring your own for the ride. This is one of the best parts of a party bus — you can’t do this in an Uber!
⚠️ Washington State Banquet Permit — REQUIRED
This is important: Under Washington State law, if you’re serving or consuming alcohol at a gathering in a public conveyance (like a party bus), you are required to obtain a Banquet Permit from the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB).
How to Get Your Banquet Permit
- Cost: $25 per day of your event
- Apply online: Washington State LCB Banquet Permit Portal | Questions? Call (360) 664-1600
- Processing: You’ll receive your permit via email after completing the online application
- Payment: Credit or debit card required
- Print your permit and have it available on the bus
The Bus Rules (Non-Negotiable)
Everyone Must Be 21+
If there is any alcohol on the bus, every single passenger must be at least 21 years old. No exceptions. Your driver will check IDs before departure.
What if someone under 21 is caught drinking? The ride is immediately terminated. No refund. We take this seriously because our license depends on it.
No Smoking
No smoking of any kind on the bus — cigarettes, vapes, or anything else. This protects our leather seats, keeps the air clean for everyone, and is required by law.
What to Bring (and How to Pack Smart)
✅ Do Bring
- Canned drinks — easier to manage, no broken glass risk
- Plastic cups — if you bring bottles, pour into plastic
- A cooler with ice — keep everything cold (we don’t provide one)
- Non-alcoholic options — water, soda, juice for mixing
- Snacks — pretzels, chips, finger food (nothing messy)
- Your playlist — connect your phone to our premium sound system
❌ Don’t Bring
- Glass bottles without plastic cups — safety risk on a moving bus
- Red wine without caution — it stains leather seats (you’re liable for damage)
- Kegs or large containers — they slide around and are unsafe
- Anything illegal — zero tolerance
💡 Pro Tips
- Pre-mix cocktails in a dispenser or pitcher — saves time and mess
- Bring a trash bag — makes cleanup easy and earns bonus points with your driver
- Pack more ice than you think — a 3-hour ride in summer goes through ice fast
- Bring a bottle opener if you need one — the bus doesn’t have one
For Mixed-Age Groups (Under 21 Present)
If your group includes anyone under 21 (like a graduation party or family event), no alcohol is allowed on the bus at all. But the party doesn’t need booze to be awesome — our LED lights, sound system, and the energy of your group make it a blast regardless.
For school dances and proms, we have specific policies to ensure a safe, fun, parent-approved experience.
Cleanup Expectations
We want you to have fun, but please be respectful of the bus:
- Use the trash containers provided on every bus
- Clean up major spills if they happen
- Don’t pour drinks on the floor (yes, this has happened)
- The person who booked the bus is responsible for any damage — see your rental agreement
A clean bus means we can offer great service to the next group — and keeps our prices fair for everyone.
